Creating actions in code

I'm working on a plugin, which uses WPF and integrated UI controls that are accessible via API. I'm using Caliburn for the WPF part and now I'm trying to use it everywhere else for consistency.

I have already implemented view property binding by wrapping the integrated UI controls in DependencyObject derived classes. At the moment I just simply bind an ICommand property on a wrapper to the viewmodel's ICommand property. But I would really like to use the Action mechanism here too.

I'm trying to understand how it works by reading the source code, but I would appreciate some guidance. Some example of creating, initializing, attaching, binding, etc. an action in code would be nice. Thanks!

And how is that supposed to help me?

Have a look at the Parser. It transforms the short, textual action syntax into the actual actions and configures them on the target element. I think that should help you move in the right direction.
