How Do I Subscribe to an Event from a ViewModel in a Different Assembly?

I've searched for an answer with no success. I have:

(1) A main view model, call in MainViewModel, in one assembly
(2) A child view model, call in ChildViewModel, in another assembly
(3) I have modified my bootstrapper to find the child view model and apply the CM conventions
(4) I can instantiate the child view model from my main view model without a problem
(5) I pass the main view model's event aggregator object to the child view model upon instantiation of the child view model
(6) BUT when my child view model publishes a message using the event aggregator my main view model's subscription method is not invoked.
(7) If I publish a message from within the assembly of my main view model I can subscribe to it.

Is there something more I need to do to allow the event aggregator to find the subscriber to an event, when that subscriber is located in another assembly?

Thank you in advance.

Sorry for the bother, figured it out. I had an incorrect reference in the subscribing VM.
