Does using InAppSettings allow data to be maintained after upgrading or re-installing an App? From what I have read, it does, but testing this on an actual phone (using the Application Deployment tool) does not work for me.

Thanks for any help,

upgrading should carry thorough, but after a crash I had with my application due to licensing issues I lost 3 months of data on my phone I say 3 months because I hadn't done a backup of the data contained in the database from that period. At any rate a reinstall of the app didn't recover any data so I don't believe if you uninstall then reinstall your data will be lost. I would take necessary measures to save what ever data you need, my personal preference now is to use the skydrive integration in my app.. actually works pretty well

InAppSettings is merely creating the __ApplicationSettings file you see when you do a snapshot of the data contained within the folder of the application. with in that file is an array of serialized key-value xml
